Dr. Valerie LaRiviere

Dental School Graduation Announcement

“Where you go when you leave isn't as important as where you go when you come home.” ― Lindsay Eagar

Dr. Wayne LaRiviere opened Waterboro Dentist in 1982. He has dedicated his career to serving his community with an emphasis on helping each patient achieve optimal oral health. His compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, and a lifelong goal of reaching clinical perfection has led to a full and satisfying career. This June, Dr. LaRiviere is thrilled to announce the addition of his daughter, Valerie LaRiviere, to the practice.

Dr. Valerie LaRiviere recently received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Roseman University of Health Sciences 41 years after her father graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During her four years at Roseman University Valerie was recognized by her peers as “the person who strives to do her best in clinic, forms great relationships with clinic faculty and staff, takes time out of clinic to practice in the simulation clinic, and goes the extra mile for her patients” and received the Clinical Dedication Award. Valerie was also honored with The Quintessence Award in recognition of Academic Achievement in Restorative Dentistry. As a student at Roseman,  Valerie helped organize and participated in Utah Area Health Education Center career fairs with the goal of increasing the diversity of health care providers.

Dr. Valerie LaRiviere has a passion for restorative dentistry. She has spent the last four years developing the skills to follow in her father’s footsteps of clinical excellence. In addition to her training in oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and restorative dentistry , Valerie had attended many continuing education classes and is certified to provide Invisalign orthodontic services. She is also a member of an advanced study club for cast gold restorations affiliated  with the R.V. Tucker International Academy of Cast Gold Study Clubs.

During her time in dental school, Valerie had the opportunity to spend four weeks in a community health clinic providing dental care for those underserved in the Salt Lake City community.  Along with her father, Dr. Valerie LaRiviere is dedicated to providing oral health care to those in our community that are uninsured and are unable to afford dental care.

Like Wayne and Martha LaRiviere, Valerie and her husband Stuart Johnson met and graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Following graduation Val and Stu moved West and spent ten years in Park City, Utah building careers and being involved in their community. Dr. Valerie LaRiviere and Stu are looking forward to putting down roots in Maine. For Valerie and her father, family and community are of utmost importance. They are excited to work together and to create an innovative dental clinic bursting with new technology and new ideas.
